About Magda
Originally from Poland and raised in Ontario and British Columbia, Magda now resides in Nanaimo, BC, with her family. She values connection, lifelong learning, and spending time outdoors, bringing these same principles to her work with individuals and families.
Magda is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) with over 25 years of experience supporting children, youth, adults, and families of individuals with developmental disabilities, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), across home, school, community, and residential settings.
She completed her Bachelor of Arts at Simon Fraser University and earned a Master of Education in Special Education from the University of British Columbia, with graduate coursework focused on Autism Spectrum Disorder and developmental disabilities. Magda has also presented applied work at conferences through the Association for Behavior Analysis International (ABAI) and remains committed to ongoing professional development in evidence-based practice, communication, emotional regulation, and trauma-informed care.
Trained by consultants specializing in Precision Teaching, Magda has provided behaviour consultation services through organizations across the Lower Mainland and Vancouver Island. She is the founder of Aligned Learning & Behaviour, where she provides individualized, family-centred support grounded in evidence-based and compassionate practice.
Her experience includes supporting the development of academic skills, communication, social-emotional learning, emotional regulation, daily living skills, and community-based independence. Magda's clinical approach incorporates a range of evidence-based methodologies, including Precision Teaching, Direct Instruction, Verbal Behavior (VB), Natural Environment Teaching (NET), Incidental Teaching, Discrete Trial Teaching (DTT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and trauma-informed practices.
Magda is passionate about helping individuals build meaningful skills that increase confidence, independence, and quality of life. Outside of her professional work, she enjoys spending time with her family, cooking, exploring Vancouver Island's natural beauty and arts and entertainment.
